Yes, I know things have been a bit quiet on these pages recently. But there is plenty going on in Jungle World. Notwithstanding the hairy news from South America, and the high profile Africa got from President Bush's visit, we're doing lots too!
We're keeping up with the regular updates, such as the weekly news summary and movie of the week.
We're also creating better ways to follow what's going on. For example, you can join our Facebook group or follow me on Twitter. See you there!

Wander the Jungle!
I am starting a new business, Jungle Wanders, as an extension of my educational website, Jungle Photos. Jungle Wanders provides real or armchair travel experiences of tropical nature wilderness. You can download a brochure here:

Let me know what you think! :)
If you know anyone (schools, retirement homes, etc.) that would like a presentation, do let me know. If within driving distance of Raleigh, North Carolina, I don't charge for the presentation.

What's up?
What's with all the comments that I didn't make? A bug in the Blogger software it seems.
Work is coming along nicely with the rebranding of Jungle Photos. We hope you'll like the new look.
And oooh, this is exciting! The third edition of my book, The Amazon: The Bradt Travel Guide will be in stores in early August. Order your copy now!
You can also keep up to date with my goings on through my Facebook and MySpace pages. Check them out now!

Up & coming
Well, it's been sooo long since ANYTHING has been written here, you must think I am a real doofus! But no! We've been mega busy working on lots of cool stuff for Jungle Photos Explorers!
Up and coming is a completely new look for Jungle Photos, with RSS feeds from each page, comment sections and more. We'll be expanding this to the photo section so everyone can comment on their favorite photos!
Of course, we're always adding new info, links to products and lots more stuff so be sure to visit often, and tell all your friends!

Manifesto for Biodiversity
My Rant!!!
In April 2003, I wrote an essay for a competition run by Shell Oil and others, titled Nurturing Nature. The premise of the essay is that in order to preserve biodiversity, we must proactively manage life's evolution. That is, we must understand how we are changing life--not only its loss through extinction, but its evolution through environmental change. Essentially, the article presents a Manifesto for Biodiversity. You can read more about it online in JungleWiki, or by downloading the PDF.
